Although we are run by volunteers, Helen & Douglas House Children’s Hospice in Oxford continue to provide vital support and funding for our activities. Importantly, this enables us to support not only bereaved Dads associated with the hospice but any Dad whose child has died, regardless of when, where or how it happened.
We host around six Saturday sessions through the year, generally running from 10am – 2pm including refreshments and lunch. Our sessions are held in ideal meeting spaces at Helen & Douglas House Children’s Hospice, Oxford providing the comfort, peace and privacy we need for our discussions. The atmosphere is always relaxed and welcoming, with informal and comfortable seating, friendly chat and plenty to eat and drink.
Additionally we have two Dads’ Weekends each year. Based at a tranquil countryside venue in the Chilterns, these Weekends come highly recommended by those who have attended and benefited in the past. Involving various themed workshops and sessions, we also enjoy good food & drink and a relaxed ramble via the decent local pubs.
Dads.care is an inclusive and diverse group. We are a secular, non-profit, non-political, non-geographic community, focused purely on providing essential guidance and support for Dads in need.
